Talk About Bombing Power.

The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is an annual air show which every aviation enthusiast should visit at least once. If you can make it out to Wisconsin, you should go every year as they never fail to surprise their spectators. The event draws over a half a million people from around the world as they can feast their eyes on over 10,000 aircraft that attend this event.

Just a few days ago (July 2017) they displayed something that hasn’t been seen for decades, however. The flight of two B-29 bombers.

Up until now, only Commemorative Air Force’s FIFI was the sole airworthy B-29 Superfortress in the world. During that time, however, DOC, the other B-29 you’ll see in the video, was tirelessly worked on since the 80s. DOC got airworthy status from the FAA in May of 2016 but was not flown in formation with FIFI until now. The footage of that flight is below.

We must mention that the whole clip is incredible, not just the part of the now united B-29s. The entire bomber formation that EAA put together was almost mind blowing. They kicked it off with a B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit and B-52 Stratofortress, followed them by FIFI and DOC and a B-17 Flying Fortress and finished the formation with a couple of B-25 Mitchells. They certainly know how to put on a show.
