Nothing Else Like It.

There’s really nothing comparable to being buzzed by a B-52 Stratofortress, although on this site we can only do so through a video. That’s ok though, because you still get a pretty awesome feeling when you hear her blow over you. In person however, it’s a whole different story.

A Youtube uploader by the name of Jonathan Grainge did us a favor and put this insane video up on his channel. He positioned himself really well right behind the fence at the end of the runway and patiently waited for what might be the coolest B-52 takeoff video on Youtube. The quality is crisp and clean and the sound is awesome too.

What makes this video even better is his response to the flyover. Once the bomber gets airborne and flies right over him, he just exclaims, “Jesus Christ,” followed by a very satisfying laugh. We can’t blame him. If this was his first time in this proximity to a B-52, that’s exactly the reaction the experience warrants.

You can feel that roar in your chest which is something you can’t really explain. You just have to experience it for yourself but if you do get a chance to do it, make sure you capture it on camera and send it to us.
