For you sticklers out there (and this HAS in fact happened before) the reason we said “taped” is because as you’ll see at the end of the video, there was some video tape distortion. If you’re under 20, you’ll probably have no idea what we’re talking about, but that’s ok. This would also tell you that this video is a little bit older, but trusts us, we wouldn’t show it to you if it wasn’t worth it.
According to the description, this airshow featured the Swedish Air Force and one insane Sea Knight pilot. We wouldn’t say that if we didn’t think so by the way. Although some of these maneuvers are pretty standard for these pilots, it doesn’t mean they’re easy to perform. Also, take notice how smooth he does it too. Half way through the video, he makes a really hard and fast bank straight to a controlled wheelie, then reverses it and makes the helicopter bow in front of the crowd. Just wow.
Another thing to note is the proximity of the spectators to the helicopter. This video was probably taken in the 90s before today’s regulations were in place, so these people were within feet of the helo. Although that might be more exciting to watch, we all know what happens when a blade even grazes the ground. No thank you.
