Back Home.

Winston Churchill became one of the defining heroes of WWII resisting the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, delivering a monumental blow to Nazi Germany. Following his victory in WWII, Winston Churchill remained active in politics dedicating his life to the people he had always sworn to protect. He had his fair share of health scares later in life but he always had a certain quality about his character.

One of those infamous health scares occurred in 1962, causing Winston Churchill was holed up in the hospital for almost two months. Huge crowds gathered outside of Middlesex Hospital to greet their renowned leader and wish him well as he makes his way back to his home. As the workers carried Winston Churchill to the ambulance what would take him home you see his most infamous character traits. Honestly, he is probably the only guy who can leave a hospital smoking a cigar and not catch any flak for it.

It is simply his iconic look and it comes as naturally to him as his hats or defeating Nazi Germany. Sure he had his fair share of heart attacks, strokes and other health problems but Churchill just isn’t Churchill without that cigar. This clip of him emerging from the hospital is wildly entertaining.
