Ever See A Corsair’s Gear Mechanism Working Up Close? Well, Here You Go! | World War Wings Videos

For All You Tech Folks Out There.

We just found this neat little video floating around Facebook and thought you warbird fans would enjoy seeing it. Although you might have seen Corsairs at airshows once or twice or maybe even a dozen times, it doesn’t mean you were ever close enough to really see what’s going on under those reverse gull wings. Luckily, Thom Richard uploaded this video as when he saw a Corsair getting her maintenance done.

For those of you who don’t know who he is, he’s a famous Air Racer with a National Championship under his belt (Reno Air Races) and has pretty much spent his whole entire life around anything that flies. He’s even the President and Chief Pilot of Warbird Adventures which offers flights on some killer vintage aircraft.

Here, he brought in a Corsair into his shop in Florida to make sure everything is in working order.  Like we mentioned above, we figured you folks never saw a gear drop and/or lift up close so we wanted to show you what it looks like when the bird is on a lift.

Hope you find this as cool as we did.
