RC Pilot Lands H-4 On The Water

RC Pilot Lands H-4 On The Water | World War Wings Videos

RC MEDIA WORLD / YouTube

Noice.

This video comes to us from one of our favorite channels, namely, Rc Media World. This YouTube channel has some of the best RC videos on the web and a lot of them are from World War II. Pretty sweet stuff. Take a look when you have some free time.

In this particular video, you’ll see one monster plane taking off. Sure, it’s made of foam, but it’s big none the less. This is especially fitting because the plane they modeled, the H-4 Hercules, is one of the biggest planes ever built.

Think about this.

The wingspan of a B-52 Stratofortress is 185 ft. The Hercules had a wingspan of 320 ft., 11 in. It was also built in 1947.

Here are some neat stats about this build:

  • Scale: 1/22
  • Material: Depron
  • Wingspan: 13 ft.
  • Length: 12.5 ft.
  • Weight: 11 lbs

The flying itself is pretty great too. Not only did the guy build this thing, he knows how to fly it. This shows particularly well during the landing at the end of the video. He touches down ever so gently and brings his plane to shore.

Check it out. It’s pretty cool.
