Didn’t Think I’d See The Day.

Just when you think you’ve seen everything there is to see, you go on the internet and realize you haven’t seen jack yet. Such is the case with this interesting, yet peculiar, YouTube channel we just found.

Called Steve1989MEInfo, this channel is dedicated to exactly that, giving you information about MREs. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a Meal Ready To Eat. It’s basically a high-calorie package designed to sustain soldiers out in the field. Steve (we’re assuming) has tons of those from different eras. From World War II to current Russian MREs, he’s got them all. Even ones from Vietnam. How he gets them we don’t know, but when he unpacks them it’s quite entertaining.

For one, the guy knows what he’s talking about. Though his videos are a bit lengthy (so feel free to skip around), he gives some cool tidbits about who used those particular MREs and why. Then, he tastes what he can. Sure, he doesn’t eat 75-year-old cheese, but we’ve seen him sample coffee, eat crackers, smoke cigarettes and then try to freshen his breath with gum from World War II.

Check this out and let us know what you think. If you folks like his videos, we’ll pick through them all and share the most entertaining ones with you. Drop a comment on Facebook.
