No That’s The Proper Way To Do It.

For those of you who’ve been with us for some time, you know we’ve grown fond of remote-controlled planes over the years. We were warbirds fans first, but as our interests grew, we realized that some of these guys build some of the coolest planes. From Spitfires to massive SR-71s, you can’t say that this hobby is for kids. A lot of engineering and piloting skills are necessary to pull this off.

As of today, there is only one English Electric Lightning that is airworthy. It’s located in Cape Town, South Africa.

Case in point, this here English Electric Lightning. This thing is massive and sounds absolutely fantastic. Check out the video for yourself. To top things off, by the way, the pilot definitely knows how to fly her too. Just look at that landing at the end.

As for the build, we found out this bird has a wingspan of over 5.5 feet and is over 9 feet long. It also has a B300F turbine which produces 300N of thrust and when we looked it up, we found out it costs over $6,000.

Wow.
