Lean Baby, Lean.

USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is a United States Nimitz-class carrier which was commissioned in 1989. Since then, it took part in numerous conflicts around the world as the flagship of Carrier Strike Group Nine until it was replaced by USS Theodore Roosevelt while undergoing her overhaul.

Notably, it served during Desert Storm, Operations Vigilant Sentinel, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

FUN FACT: The USS Abraham Lincoln was featured in the movie Stealth, about a fighter plane capable of thinking for itself.

While she was had various updates since her first mission, she was due for an overhaul for a long time. Although the recent sequestration slowed down her upkeep, in 2014 she got what she needed.

Getting a much-needed anchor, RCOH or, refueling complex overhaul and modernizing combat systems, she is now ready to serve again. To do so, however, she needed to go through sea trials.

In this video, you’ll see exactly that. The crew put her through the paces and they pushed her hard. Just look how she heels during those turns. Pretty amazing for a 105,000-ton ship.
