The high seas can be a very dangerous place because you never know what kind of threats could suddenly arise. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. But if the worst does happen any hostiles will wish they didn’t if they when they get on the wrong side of the Mk 45 turret.
For over 40 years the Mk 45 has been a staple of Naval artillery to keep vessels safe from threats. This 5-inch, 62-caliber gun has undergone several upgrades since its debut in the early 1970s.

Operation and performance of extended-range munitions are tailored for optimal effect and range in unison with the major subsystem upgrades of the Mk 45 Mod 4 Naval Gun.”
