This Might Make You Emotional

Any homebuilt airplane always impresses the heck out of me. The fact that this was designed back in the 1920s and now restored, well that makes it even more special. It’s exciting to watch and it’s quite heartwarming too. The guy sure had an amazing childhood! The passion and enthusiasm about aviation (it really comes through) – this is some seriously awesome stuff!

Fun Fact: The Pietenpol Air Camper was designed, built and flown by Bernard H. Pietenpol way back in 1928. The raw materials included spruce and plywood because Pietenpol wanted an aircraft which was not only affordable but will also make it easy for home builders to construct – anyone who planned to build one only needed the basic tools and some woodworking skills.

I love how you can tell he’s extremely happy with the result. It’s a beautiful story that will tug at your heartstrings. This just made my day. The positivity is incredible!
