On October 1969, the M61 Vulcan 20mm cannon was tested on a US Air Force Convair F-106. Let’s not resort to comparing it to the A-10 Warthog’s General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger because we all know the latter is much bigger but this is still one badass armament. Talk about firepower!

The Vulcan’s rate of fire is typically 6,000 rounds per minute, although some versions (such as that of the AMX and the F-106 Delta Dart) are limited to a lower rate, and others (A-7 Corsair) have a selectable rate of fire of either 4,000 or 6,000 rounds per minute.

It’s stuff like this that just makes you say WOW. Besides, the fact that the US Military chose this as its primary cannon armament for about five decades now only means anyone on the business end is definitely in big trouble. It may be lightweight but it’s highly lethal. That’s how you deal with your enemies.
