Forest Fires.

The Howitzer has a long-standing legacy as one of the most infamous guns on the planet. These massive guns date back all the way to the 17th century and have appeared in some form throughout most major conflicts since that time. They are so reliable that they have stayed in use and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon except for the battlefield.

Mainly used as siege weapons the Howitzer has continued to evolve to this very day. The 155 mm Howitzer is the staple weapon of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 tank used by several European militaries. These vicious guns played a strong role in the War in Afghanistan and are currently undergoing exercises with NATO known as Iron Wolf II.

“The exercise trains and assesses planning and conduct of defensive and offensive operations abilities in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group attached to the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf and the Lithuanian Grand Duchess BirutÄ— Uhlan Mechanised Infantry Battalion and also refine interoperability with NATO allies.”

Needless to say, 155 mm Howitzers pack a pretty mean punch for the shots they fire off. Check out these tanks using their Howitzers to fire off shots into a forest during exercise Iron Wolf II.
