Big Boned.

When it comes to big planes there are few aircraft that can rival the size of the C-5A Galaxy. It is the biggest of the big, hauling tanks, helicopters, submarines and all sorts of massive cargo to its destination. This gigantic jet has had a good run over the years, but sadly the United States Air Force just retired the last C-5A Galaxy.

It was a difficult decision to put away the C-5A Galaxy for good, but it is a necessary one. It has a lot of hauling power but the C-5A is simply a relic of the past when compared to the C-5M Super Galaxy which outclasses it in every way. Slowly but surely the C-5As have been sent to the boneyard for decommissioning and eventual scrapping.

It is a sad day for fans of the C-5A Galaxy who embraced its heavy lifting capabilities. In this video, the last C-5A Galaxy comes down for a landing at the Air Force boneyard where it will meet its fate. This may be the last time that anyone gets to hear its booming FRED engines.
