Worth The Wait

A plane this size took over 10 years of work from YouTube user “Dynodon64”. To reiterate what he said, this is a soon-to-be airworthy 1/2 scale replica of the Corsair. In order to legally fly it, you would need a private pilot’s license and an FAA clearance.

It has a 71.5 sq ft of wing area and weighs around 1,200 lbs. This replica can also reach a top speed of 190 mph and cruise speeds of about 120 to 165 mph – assuming that his math is right.

For the engine, he used a 1990 Subaru EJ22 that he bought from a wreck. Luckily for him, the engine only had 5,000 miles on it when he purchased it.

We highly recommend you watch the whole video. It’s an absolute treat to watch him walk around and explain the different aspects of his replica.
