Boys And Their Toys.

We found this video floating around the interwebs and figured you Wings folks would appreciate it. Although our first love is aviation, we do have a great appreciation for all military equipment past and present. Since all we do is research all day, YouTube has now picked up what it is that we do and they throw random things at us. Here, it suggested we might be interested in a guy who spent 5 years building a Tiger tank you can sit and ride in and it was totally right. This is pretty epic.

Almost 1,500 Tiger I tanks were built between 1942 and 1945.

The YouTube channel we got this from is called bartschults and we figure that’s his real name. His videos go back about eight years to 2009 and he uploaded a few a year since then showing the progress of his build. He dropped off about four years ago with the video we’re about to show you, saying it wasn’t totally finished yet. He hasn’t uploaded anything since for some reason. You will see him driving it around his backyard though and that’s pretty incredible all unto itself.

We did go through some of his older videos and grabbed screenshots so we can show you the framing, engine and other parts of the build. You can see them below. He actually fabricated a majority of the mechanical parts himself.
