WWII Footage in Color

The P-47 Thunderbolt is a World War II fighter aircraft developed by Republican Aviation between 1941 to 1945. Not only it became a successful high-altitude fighter, but it also served as a prominent American fighter bomber in the ground attack role.

The video features an original video from archive footage that was digitally restored that featured the 362nd fighter group P-47 Thunderbolts flying over Germany. In fact, it’s one of the most exciting WWII footage caught in action we’ve seen so far.

While the P-47 isn’t as elegant and sleek as the Mustang or Spitfire, it’s quick, agile, and could take in a lot of punishment. It deserves more recognition. Mad respect to the brave men in history and WWII veterans who flew this legendary warbird!
