This Silk Way West Boeing 747-400F suffered an uncontained engine failure on takeoff, according to the video uploader. We get to see the plane coming to a stop on the runway as it waits for emergency vehicles to inspect the damage.

Additionally, the plane’s #1 engine seems to be the culprit – if the uploader was to be believed.

If the engine did explode during takeoff, it would be unfortunate incident. At least this happened while the plane was still on the ground and not when it had already gotten into the air. Thus, a lot of lives were spared.

The last thing you’d want is an engine failure mid-flight, right?
