Oldie But Goodie.

This awesome flyby comes to us from RAF Mildenhall Air Fete Airshow. Captured on camera back in 2000 a spectator got a really great shot of one of the best heavy strategic bombers ever created. Yup, you guessed it. We’re talking about the B-1 Lancer AKA “Bone.”

We did some digging and found out that this was actually the second to last airshow at RAF Mildenhall. According to people who attended the shows from the early 60s, it was definitely one to go see.

They hosted a many different aircraft, but most notably showed planes such as Sr-71 Blackbirds, F-117 Nighthawks and B-1 Lancers you’ll see in this video. Although these high tech planes are awesome to see, they of course showed some prop jobs as well like the C-131 Samaritan, E-2 Hawkeye and many others.

All in all, it was always a show to see, and although on this particular day this airshow took place the weather was less than ideal, people stuck around to see what it had to offer. As you’ll see, someone got on camera one of the only high speed passes of a Lancer we ever found. What’s more, a bit of a vapor cone formed around it so it’s a totally spectacular visual.

Enjoy.
