In a heart-wrenching twist of fate, a routine training maneuver featuring a pair of HH-60 Black Hawk medical evacuation choppers turned deadly on the evening of Wednesday. The catastrophic incident took place in Trigg County, Kentucky, and resulted in the devastating loss of nine valiant soldiers who belonged to the 101st Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell.

As per official reports, the mishap occurred at approximately 10 p.m. local time when both helicopters were actively engaged in the exercise. The fallen soldiers’ identities remain undisclosed, as their loved ones are being informed first about the heart-wrenching news.

Brigadier General John Lubas, belonging to the 101st Airborne Division, revealed that the number of personnel onboard each chopper was fairly standard, with one carrying five soldiers and the other four. This grievous calamity serves as a poignant reminder of the perils and sacrifices that our brave military members confront in their line of duty.
