AIR FORCE GREENLIGHTS GAME-CHANGING NEW JET

An Actual Game-Changer?
The Air Force awarded the firm JetZero $235 million to build their first prototype blended body wing design, a hybrid-body aircraft.
No official aircraft designations have been set, but it’s been reported that the million-dollar aircraft will be using Geared Turbo Fans built by Pratt & Whitney on the top rear of the fuselage.
A blended body wing design plane diverges from the conventional tube fuselage with wings attached approach. It’s headed toward a flying wing without quite getting all the way there.
They have a distinct fuselage and wings that are blended together in a way where one ends, and where the next begins. These designs can reach up to a 30 percent reduction in aerodynamic drag while also increasing lift.
Technically, what it means is that you have a plane that doesn’t have to work as hard to do its job, allowing greater range, greater speed, greater payload capabilities, greater loiter time, and even greater stealth.
We hope that this program will be successful, and see it implemented in the real world soon!
