This is One Crazy Start-Up
This footage features a Boeing CH-47 Chinook departing out of KOLV.
We get to see an APU start, engine start, taxi, and takeoff. Got to say, there’s nothing else that quite looks like this plane– the double rotors are second to none. It was also pretty cool to see the blades change pitch before the engine started!
This particular Chinook is an MH-47G, that was utilized by the 160th SOAR – Special Operations Aviation Regiment – Nightstalkers.
What makes it different from the average Chinook is the plane’s increased fuel capacity, upgraded avionics and equipment, as well as having higher survivability rates when the plane flies deep in enemy territories.
Definitely a masterpiece of engineering!
