Awesome Sound!
Youtuber Steve Kauzlarich claims that the F-16 in this footage broke the sound barrier during a high-speed pass at Oshkosh AirVenture, last July 2, 2021, to thousands of amazed aircraft enthusiasts who were there at the event.
A plane that traverses through the sound barrier leads to two sonic booms, one at the nose and one at the tail, and are heard as one. However, some will probably disagree that this is a real sonic boom, as it’s much quieter. Thus, it was probably a “mini” sonic boom or a subsonic boom. Also, we need to consider the fact that military jets are prohibited to go supersonic on airshows.
What are your thoughts about this? Sonic boom or not, this is still definitely a treat!
