F4U CORSAIR SOUNDS IMPRESSIVE DURING FLYBY

Absolutely Chilling!

In this footage, we get to see some epic Corsair runs. As you know, this warbird is one of World War II’s most iconic fighters. That’s because this beast of an aircraft can technically outclimb, outrun, and outfight any propeller-driven enemy aircraft.

The plane, air running through slots at high speeds gave it a very distinctive sound. In fact, the Japanese even gave it the moniker, “Whistling Death.”

The airplane did particularly well against the Japanese Zero with an impressive kill ratio of 12:1. Thus, based on these numbers and exceptional performance, there’s no doubt that this moniker is well-earned.

It’s hard to imagine how terrifying it is for the enemy back in the day!
