Down Low.

Royal Air Force Fairford in the United Kingdom is the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress’s home away from home. Whenever the B-52 has to go overseas to fight the big guy needs a place to hang out and RAF Fairford is that place. The Royal Air Force is kind enough to allow the US Air Force B-52s to deploy from this base before to go off to the Middle East to carpet bomb terrorists.

RAF Fairford has a lot of history, going all the way back to 1944 where is was used as an airfield to deploy planes for the Normandy Invasion. It is also home to Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) the world’s biggest airshow which attracts well over 500 aircraft each year. Needless to say, its a pretty big place and it even sports a 10,000 runway that is perfect for heavy bomber deployments.

The B-52s are heading into RAF Fairford again for another healthy dose of combat trials. So check out this clip as a massive B-52 comes in fast and low to the RAF Fairford to get the party started.
