In this post, we’ll walk you through the different iconic engines as well as their insane engine sounds that will shake your soul.

One of our favorites was the P&W Wasp 18-cylinder engines because they were a marvel of design and engineering and had such a great sound. The Rolls Royce Merlin and the Allison V12s were pretty awesome as well. Meanwhile, the Curtis Wright R-1300 sounds like a galloping horse when it first fired off.

There’s no doubt that these engines are pure art, which is a result of the collaboration between designers, engineers, and exceptional tradesmen. Early radial engines are so insane, most of them with “out of the box” ultimate engineering designs. Simply incredible!
