Meet 95-year-young Harvey Djerf, a World War II veteran who was in charge of anti-aircraft artillery in England, France, Belgium and finally Germany. Nowadays, however, he enjoys long walks in his neighborhood in Plymouth, Minnesota but it’s been getting hard for him.

Harvery lived in the same place for decades and took his strolls there all the time, so everyone knew him and his route. Lately, however, he’s been stopping more and more often to catch his breath and his neighbors noticed that. One of them put out a chair for him to sit in to rest for a bit, and that set off a chain reaction around the block. Everyone started doing it.
