How Long We’ve Come.

We’re not big gamers here at World War Wings and we’re sure some of you are not either but we got to give credit when credit is due. Back in the day when Call of Duty first came out, it was World War II-themed as well. It was a technological feat at the time as it was 3D and everything but the late 90s can’t compare to now what game developers are doing now.

The new Call of Duty will be released in November 2017 and it set bar so high you’d wonder if it could ever be surpassed. Sure, the game looks extremely realistic and the gameplay looks intense, but for us history buffs, we’re just glad that games like that are popular. It’s not about the gore and sort of disrespect you could associate with playing such a game, but the fact that it does have a lot of historical truths in it helps keep young folks today interested in the topic.  A topic that seems to be forgotten with each passing day.

Some of the historic battles included in the game are the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day), Liberation of Paris, Battle of Aachen, Battle of Hürtgen Forest and Battle of the Bulge.

The game will revolve around a 12 man squadron of the 1st Infantry Division. You can play one of 4 characters including RAF pilot Major Arthur Crowley, liberating cities as your squad plows through destroyed European cities.

All in all, this looks extremely good.
