Plane Crash Shocks Crowds at Racing Event
A plane crash disrupted the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at Pomona Fairplex on Sunday, November 17, 2024, leaving four people aboard the aircraft injured but sparing the thousands in attendance. The single-engine Piper PA32 was attempting to land at Brackett Field Airport in La Verne when it crashed near the racetrack around 11:10 a.m.

Videos captured the low-flying plane moments before a loud thud signaled its impact, prompting shock among the crowd. The crash involved five vehicles and three trailers near the drag strip, leading to race delays as emergency teams responded swiftly.

Fortunately, no spectators were harmed. The four individuals aboard the plane sustained moderate to severe injuries, none of which were life-threatening.

As of Monday, investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were working to determine the cause of the accident.
