Time to Go Home!
How can an F-22 Raptor stop two jets without firing a single missile? It turns out, you don’t even need weapons – you just need the F-22!
In 2013, two Iranian F-4 Phantom fighter jets were attempting to pursue an MQ-1 drone. With a top speed of 135 mph, the drone seemed like an easy target – or so they thought.
While the two F-4s were busy tracking the drone, an American F-22 Raptor was stealthily approaching them from behind.
As the F-4s closed in on the drone, the F-22 quickly maneuvered just below one of the Phantoms to assess its missile load.
Unimpressed by what he saw, the F-22 pilot banked left and leveled with the Phantom.
From there, all the F-22 pilot had to say was:
“You oughta go home.”
And that was all it took for the two shocked Iranian pilots to return to base.
