Volume UP!

YouTube channel “Cars and Engines” just released a video that’ll blow your mind. Their video starts with the iconic Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone. Once powering the B-29 Superfortresses, P-2 Neptunes, and A-1 Skyraiders, it’s no wonder the engine is as popular as it is now.

However, everyone seems to be into the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major, which you can find at 2:09. The 28-cylinder radial piston engine can produce a very distinct sound like no other.

A Bristol Hercules can also be seen at 3:30. Designed by Sir Roy Fedden, the 14-cylinder radial engine was once the chosen powerplant for the RAF’s Lancasters, Beaufighters, and Stirlings.

Out of all the engines featured in the video, which one was your favorite?
