What a Great Plane!

This footage features the North American P51D Mustang “Frances Dell” during a display at Gelnhausen Flugplatzkerb 2023. What’s really impressive is its awesome engine and gunport whistle sound. The P-51’s whistle probably comes from the gunports. You can hear this sound at a higher angle of attack, for instance, when intercepting from a loop or a tight curve.

What’s mind-blowing is how this plane, designed almost 80 years ago, can stay sleek and sound so good! Not to mention the impressive history behind it. I love watching these old warbirds take to the skies and how well-maintained they are.
