P-51 Mustang Roars Through The Sunset

 In this footage, we get to see the P-51D “Frances Dell” flown by pilot Georg Raab at the Flugplatzkerb Gelnhausen 2023, Sunset Display. The plane is powered by an impressive RR/Packard Merlin V-1650-7 V12 engine. Got to say the sound of the Packard-Merlin is like music to our ears! The plane’s shrill scream is like an eagle coming in for the kill- nothing quite like it. The whistle probably comes from the machine gun ports found on the wings.
