This P-51D Mustang they call “GUNFIGHTER” will blow you away!
Taken at Rapid City Regional Airport in 2019, we can see the Gunfighter start its Merlin engine before taxiing and taking off.
If that wasn’t satisfying enough, we also get to see some close-up shots of this beautiful Mustang in all its glory. Gunfighter was restored by the CAF in the colors of the 343rd Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force.
It’s also been modified to include a second seat where the radio gear and fuselage fuel tank were located – the perfect way for aviation fans to ride the iconic P-51 Mustang.
The design, the paint scheme, and that magnificent engine – there’s just nothing quite like it! No wonder most people are amazed at this warbird.
