Miraculously, No Damage Done.

This is one of those landings that is terrible but by aviation standards, a great one. Let us explain.

Missing the runway completely is a bad thing no matter which way you look at it. If it’s not under you and straight ahead, you’re doing it wrong. In this case, the pilot managed to be almost completely perpendicular to the length of the runway and also landed in the bushes. That ladies and gentlemen, is bad.

Now for the good part.

As the old aviation proverb goes, “if you can walk away from a landing, it’s a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it’s an outstanding landing.” We believe this was coined by Chuck Yeager and he knows a thing or two about aircraft, landing and, well, crashing. If you’d like to read a bit more about him, by the way, click here for a short bio and to find out what kind of guy he is.

All in all, this must have been the smoothest rough landing we’ve ever seen and Chuck would probably approve. Check it out.
