Allison Engine Over The Water
This beautifully painted U-80 Blue Chip uses an Allison engine for hydroplane races. Adorned with a dashing blue and white color, this hydroplane can rip through the water like a car on a road. It’s almost unbelievable that a boat can be this fast. Putting in an airplane engine is almost certainly a great idea.
Allison engines were used by fighter planes such as the P-38s, P40s, and P-51s to select a few. It must be amazing to drive these hydroplanes on the water. The unmistakable sound of the engine really shines through in the video.
