What a Beautiful Plane!
This footage features the rare U-boat PBY-5A Catalina “Miss Pickup” from the Duxford Imperial War Museum performing a flying display at the Flugplatzkerb Gelnhausen 2024.
This plane is definitely a timeless classic. It had awesome range and endurance, not to mention, it was simply beautiful- one of our all-time favorites!
In comparison to its size, the engines look so small, and yet this warbird not only flies but does so gracefully. Also, considering that it was super windy in the video, the landing was still quite smooth.
