The Boeing B-17 is a heavy bomber that proved to be extremely efficient, as it was used during every theater of the war. The plane was legendary in sustaining heavy damage in battle enhanced by its almost self-sufficient firepower. They were not only utilized for daytime raids over Germany but wreaking havoc in the Pacific as well.

In this footage, we get to see B-17G starting up her powerful 4-powerful Pratt & Whitney R-1690 Hornet radial engines to impress the crowds at Duxford UK. Got to say, what an iconic sound! The B-17G was the final version of the Flying Fortress, incorporating all the changes done to its predecessor, the B-17F.
