Serene Drone Footage Of A Forgotten Luftwaffe Airbase-Here’s Its Rich History | World War Wings Videos

Remnants Of Air Power.

We got this video from the YouTube channel RioDeLaNorte. This guy’s channel is filled with videos of him exploring various World War II fortifications including bunkers, bases and this here abandoned airport.

Although we found the drone video first, we also included another one we found from a few years prior of the same spot. The top video is the drone footage which has its own allure. The bottom video is the guy walking around the base on foot and getting into little nooks and crannies all over the base. That video is a bit longer, but is worth a watch if you have the time.

As for the history of this base, he doesn’t tell us where it is (probably because he doesn’t want to point tons of people there to vandalize it) but does say it’s massive for a Luftwaffe Airbase. It was home to long-range bombers and night fighters during World War II and also had a flight school for new Luftwaffe pilots.

As for the entire compound, he says he filmed the barracks, air force hospital, officers’ club, movie theater, swimming pool, various hangars and what is left of the runway.

Check out the videos below. They’re actually really interesting.
