Resistance.

Steven Spielberg is no stranger to taking WWII and bringing it to life in monumental films. From Shindler’s List to Saving Private Ryan, Spielberg’s passion for the history of World War II knowns know limits. It should come as no surprise that he has yet another WWII story in the works based on a true story called Daughters of the Resistance.

This new series is based on a series of memoirs that will not make a public debut until 2020 titled Daughters of the Resistance: Valor, Fury, and the Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler’s Ghettos. This will focus on the women who fought against Nazi German’s oppression while they were trapped in the ghettos of Poland in some of the most cramped living conditions in human history. The story is based on the real-life testimony of survivors of Hitler’s “Final Solution.”

“The film will be produced under the DreamWorks Pictures label with Battalion also set to co-produce. The proposal was sold in a publishing preempt to Rachel Kahan, the William Morrow editor of Hidden Figures.”

It has not yet been announced if Steven Spielberg will adopt this project as a film or as a long-form television series.
