Plane Catches Fire in Antalya, All 95 On Board Safe
A Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100, operated by Azimuth Airlines, caught fire after landing at Antalya Airport in Turkey on Sunday. The flight, arriving from Sochi, carried 89 passengers and six crew members, all of whom evacuated safely without injury.

The fire broke out in the plane’s left engine shortly after landing at 9:34 p.m. local time. The pilot made an emergency call, prompting a swift response from airport rescue teams. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and used foam to cool the engine.

Dramatic footage shared by the Turkish transportation ministry and Airport Haber showed flames and smoke billowing from the engine as passengers evacuated using emergency slides.

Landings at Antalya Airport were temporarily suspended until the damaged plane could be removed. Departures continued from a military-operated runway to minimize disruptions.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fortunately, the rapid response by emergency teams ensured no injuries occurred during the incident.
