What an intense dogfight! Fortunately, no actual dogs were involved—and, most importantly, Iceman made it through what seemed like an impossible battle. His plot armor definitely carried him through those scenes.

The tension peaked when Maverick pulled off that jaw-dropping move at the end. Even Merlin looked like he was about to lose his mind—and who could blame him? It was a risky maneuver, but Maverick’s boldness paid off in the end.

Arguably, the best moment comes at the 2:45 mark when the planes move in perfect sync. For a movie that debuted in the 1980s, the film delivers some truly spectacular cinematography.
