Dragging.

The U-2 Dragon Lady has a lengthy history in the world of aviation and is here to stay. The legendary spy plane that nearly threw the world into a nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis still operates after 60 years. Originally conceived as a reconnaissance plane for the CIA, the U-2 Dragon Lady now continues that role in service of the US Air Force.

Designed by aviation Guru Clarence “Kelly” Johnson at Skunkworks the U-2 Dragon Lady was unlike any other aircraft at the time. The U-2’s long range and high-altitude performance made it perfectly suited for reconnaissance missions over the vast territories of Russia.

“U-2 flights revealed that the Soviets were more concerned with building tractors than tanks. Russia’s ability to produce high-end bombers was unimpressive at best. Its missiles, while numerous, were better suited for intermediate attacks against Europe than a long-range attack on the United States, with most being unready to fire at all.”

This spy plane is expected to stay operational until 2045 because it holds up to well at what it does. Check out this video of a Dragon Lady soaring right overhead, the noise is unreal.
