Quite A Show!

Okay, we just realized everyone in the room has been holding their breaths. Dang, that must have been one insane experience. It’s a really low flyover and with that very close encounter, we can’t help but wonder if anyone considered peeing in their pants. Lol. But hey, not everyone can say ‘I’ve seen a C-17 THIS CLOSE.’ Anyway, this was taken during a formation flying by the RAAF after a training exercise.

The C-17 commonly performs strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop duties.

The C-17 Globemaster is a pretty large transport. With a maximum take off weight of 585,000 lb (265,350 kg); it has a payload of 170,900 lb (77,519 kg) of distributed cargo. What can it accommodate? Trucks, battle tanks, armored vehicles, and trailers to name a few. But that’s not all, this mighty beast can also airdrop about 120 paratroopers and yes, that includes their equipment. So you see, it’s undeniably one of the most important military planes EVER.
