The HORIZON AIRMEET LIVE 2021 witnessed a monumental moment in RC aviation history as the largest remote-controlled Airbus A380 replica took to the skies for its first public flight. This 1:13 scale masterpiece, modeled after a THAI Airways A380, left the audience mesmerized with its sheer size and incredible realism.

The builder and owner, Christopher Ferkl of Austria, dedicated three years and 1,700 hours to creating this engineering marvel. With a wingspan of 20 feet and a length of 18.5 feet, the model tips the scales at an impressive 226 pounds. Powered by four JetsMunt 166 turbines and fueled by 2.2 gallons of jet fuel stored in CMJETS tanks, the A380 is a feat of aeronautical craftsmanship.

Rainer Kamitz expertly piloted the aircraft during its maiden public flight, delivering a stunning display of precision and control.

This colossal replica pushes the boundaries of what enthusiasts can achieve. Ferkl’s creation is truly a masterpiece of dedication and innovation!
