The Sights and Sounds

Be sure to follow Youtube channel: Historical Machines TV. For this video, we’re taking a look at airshow flybys of three of the most iconic fighter aircraft of World War II.

First off, there’s the Supermarine Spitfire which became the only British fighter that was continuously produced throughout WWII. Then there’s Goodyear FG-1D Corsair and the North American P-51D Mustang. The P-51D Mustang features a teardrop or bubble canopy which addressed problems of poor rearward visibility.

These three go low and loud. And without any accompanying music, it allows you to appreciate their sounds more. Without a doubt, their iconic status is very much well-deserved.
