Did you know that the Yak 3 originally used the Klimow-WK-107A V12 engine resulting in 1650hp? Currently, all Yak 3s in flying condition are equipped with V-1710 V12 engines with 1240hp. It’s quite amazing that we see a warbird like the Yak-3 still flying today.
You can see why it’s one of the most outstanding fighters of WWII, with its beautiful, aerodynamic, lightweight, and very compact construction and a powerful V12 engine up front. What a work of art!
