Fantastic War Bird

The Yankee Lady is a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress that was first delivered in 1945 to the US Military. While it didn’t really see any combat action, it was used by the US Coast Guard for over a decade. In 1986, it was bought by the Yankee Air Museum and has then been restored and flown in flight experience rides and airshows.

It’s also one of the last airworthy B-17 bombers in the world.

A fun fact about this plane is that it played a role in the 2022 movie Wolf Hound, which is about a Luftwaffe special operations unit, KG 200, which flew Allied planes.
