Beautiful Yet Deadly Aircraft
This footage showcases the iconic B-25 “Panchito” in action at the 2022 WWII Weekend in Reading, PA. Originally designed before the U.S. entered the war, the B-25 Mitchell became one of the most formidable and widely produced twin-engine combat planes of WWII, with 9,815 units built.

Powered by two 1,700-hp Wright R-2600 engines, this medium bomber could strike from altitudes between 8,000 and 12,000 feet, delivering devastating firepower from above. A true masterpiece of engineering, the B-25 was built to rain hellfire on enemy targets—earning its reputation as one of the war’s most effective bombers.

The B-25 proved itself across multiple theaters, excelling in precision bombing, strafing runs, and even as a low-level attack aircraft. But was it the best medium bomber of World War II?
