The Learjet 35A, arriving from Austin, Texas, veered off the runway around 2:45 p.m. after its landing gear failed, colliding with a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet. Authorities confirmed that Neil was not on board at the time of the crash.

Scottsdale Fire Department Captain Dave Folio stated that five people were aboard the jet. One person—later identified as the pilot—was killed on impact, while three others, including Neil’s girlfriend and her friend, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger declined medical treatment.
